A deeply grieving mother has come forward with an emotional and tragic account of how she lost her newborn baby following childbirth complications, which she claims were worsened by the restrictive and rigid beliefs of her church that completely forbid medical care.
The woman's story has gone viral as she describes growing up in a religious sect where any form of medical intervention—whether hospital visits, medication, or modern treatment—was strictly forbidden. Indoctrinated from childhood, she never doubted the teachings of the church until a complicated pregnancy forced her to face harsh realities.
Following church doctrine, she avoided antenatal care, rejected pregnancy supplements, and stayed away from hospitals. Her health began to deteriorate rapidly in the third trimester, but the fear of defying church rules held her back from seeking help early.
When her symptoms became unbearable, she secretly saw a doctor and was diagnosed with pre-eclampsia, a potentially fatal condition. Her husband and in-laws were furious when they found out, insisting she rely solely on prayer and faith-based healing.
One night, her condition worsened dramatically, and she collapsed. She was rushed to the hospital where doctors insisted on performing an emergency C-section due to dangerously high blood pressure. After heated resistance, her husband reluctantly consented to the procedure, blaming her for "betraying their faith."
The baby was delivered with complications and placed in the NICU. Despite a month of intensive care, the child tragically passed away. The devastating loss left the mother shattered and searching for answers.
Adding to her grief, her husband’s family pointed fingers at her, accusing her of losing the baby because of her lack of faith and disobedience. Feeling betrayed and heartbroken, the mother says she is now turning her back on the religious group that she believes played a direct role in the death of her child.
In her own words, she said…
“I lost my baby due to my church doctrine. The church which I attended, whose name I don’t want to mention, frown on anything medication. This is a church I was born into. We do not take medications because we believe that we can never be sick. We believe also that our body is for God and no mankind medications can have any effect on the body. We cannot be sick hence we don’t take any medication. When the sickness comes, we command it and it goes away. This is how I’ve lived all my life because that was the church my parents were going before they gave birth to me….”
