    Gorilla Guy Speaks Out

Popular content creator, Chekwas Okorie Michael, popularly known as Gorilla Guy, has finally opened up about the inspiration behind his unique online persona and performance style.

In a candid response to trolls who continuously mock him for acting like a gorilla, the entertainer explained that his decision was born out of the pressing need to survive in a country grappling with economic challenges.

He noted that the situation in the country has become increasingly tough, and people should be encouraged to do whatever is necessary — within legal limits — to earn a living.

Chekwas further revealed that ever since he adopted the gorilla act in 2023, he has made more financial progress than he ever achieved throughout his life as a “normal” human being. He emphasized that this transformation completely changed his fortune.

Despite facing criticism and ridicule from online users and strangers in public, Gorilla Guy remains unfazed. He recounted how people frequently mock him by calling him a gorilla, to which he proudly responds by calling them human beings — a symbolic way of showing that he has embraced his role unapologetically.

His words in part …

“Things are very difficult in Nigeria. Do whatever it takes to survive, legally. I stopped being a human being in 2023. I started being a gorilla and in just 2 years, I have achieved times 5 of all I have achieved all my life as a human being. These days, if you see me in public and you call me gorilla, I’ll call you human being. I don’t even care. When I was a human being what did I really achieve? You’ll be forming fine boy but nothing is in your pocket. It’s all about the hustle…”
