Atalanta winger Ademola Lookman has officially declined a financially attractive offer from Napoli, indicating his firm desire to join Inter Milan instead, according to a report by Gazzetta dello Sport.

Napoli’s renewed interest in the Nigerian star saw them propose a deal worth €5 million per season, significantly higher than Inter Milan’s current €4.5 million annual offer. Despite this, Lookman is said to have firmly rejected the proposal in favor of a move to the San Siro.

Reports indicate that Lookman has already reached a verbal agreement with Inter Milan on a long-term contract extending to 2030. The proposed deal is expected to include incremental salary increases as well as performance-related bonuses.

Negotiations between Inter and Atalanta are still ongoing, as both clubs work on agreeing a transfer fee. Atalanta has set a price tag of €50 million, which Inter is reportedly attempting to lower through structured add-ons and conditional clauses.

Italian football journalist Alfredo Pedullà noted that these performance-related incentives could play a key role in reaching a final agreement in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, Napoli, despite acquiring Noa Lang and Lorenzo Lucca in recent days, are still actively searching for a wide forward. However, Lookman is now off their radar due to his unwavering commitment to securing a move to Inter.

The 26-year-old Nigerian international has been instrumental for Atalanta over the past two seasons, contributing goals and assists across all competitions. He is now prioritizing a move to a club with strong ambitions in both Serie A and European competitions, which he sees in Inter Milan.

With his decision made clear, all eyes are now on the outcome of negotiations between the two Serie A clubs as Inter aims to finalize what could be one of the summer’s key transfers.
