
The Anambra State Police Command has responded to a viral video where a young woman narrated how her brother was gruesomely killed by suspected kidnappers.
Police spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga, revealed that the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, strongly condemned the incident, labeling it a “heartless and barbaric act.”
According to Ikenga, the CP extended his condolences to the bereaved family and Amansea community, while also directing officers from the State Intelligence Department to trace the survivor and support the ongoing investigation.
He emphasized that the Command is calling on residents to remain calm, stay vigilant, and share credible information that could aid in arresting those behind the crime.
Reassuring citizens, the police stressed their commitment to tackling kidnapping and violent crimes, pledging that safeguarding lives and property remains their utmost priority.
“The Command will not relent in its mission to stamp out criminality, and anyone found guilty of such heinous acts will face the full weight of the law,” the statement concluded.
