A Nigerian man has publicly called on the federal government to take strict legal action against Fuji musician K1 De Ultimate for allegedly attempting to stop an aircraft from flying. The man asserts that the singer’s actions violated two specific sections of the Criminal Code Act, and as such, he deserves to be jailed.
The statement was made in a post shared on his X, formerly Twitter, account under the handle @trigottista. Along with the post, he shared a photo of a page from the Criminal Code Act which outlines offences related to aircraft operations, highlighting the relevant legal provisions that he believes apply to K1 De Ultimate’s case.
In the highlighted part of the document, one section cited was:
459A Obstructing Aircraft – “Any person who, by any unlawful act, obstructs, causes an alteration to be made in the course of or in any way whatsoever hinders or impedes the movement of any aircraft, which is in motion on or in flight over any aerodrome, is guilty of a misdemeanour, and is liable to imprisonment for two years.”
Another section referenced by the man was:
“459B Trespass on Aerodrome:” – “Any person who commits any nuisance or trespass in or upon any aerodrome or in or upon any building or premises situated on any aerodrome is guilty of a simple offence and is liable to imprisonment for three months or to a fine of forty naira.”
This call for legal action comes only days after K1 De Ultimate was reportedly involved in a confrontation with airport officials and a pilot at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja. Initial reports indicated that the musician was suspended for six months, and the pilot involved was also penalized.
However, after the singer tendered an apology, federal authorities lifted the suspension and instead placed K1 De Ultimate on indefinite suspension pending the outcome of a full-scale investigation into the incident.
Despite this, the man insists that the singer should be jailed, emphasizing the provisions of the Criminal Code Act which he claims clearly prohibit the type of obstruction K1 De Ultimate allegedly committed.
